Tech Trends to Ignore
Some are just not necessary, others aren't fully developed. From social networking sites to virtualization, take a pass for now, by Gene Marks

BuzzLogic - Influence moves markets. It’s a basic tenet of marketing. But until now, it’s been impossible to understand influence -- and who wields it -- within specific conversations taking place in social media.
BuzzLogic changes this dynamic by uniquely defining and measuring influence in social media, and by surfacing the key influencers who are shaping and defining markets, issues and reputations.
Through the lens of influence, BuzzLogic provides a means for marketing and communications practitioners to engage with social media in order to manage their brands, reputations, products and customer relationships. As a result, the confusion that has characterized social media is replaced by clarity – marketers can make sense of the conversations they care about. And they can do something about them.

Internet Privacy Standards (According to Google and Microsoft)
The big news in the tech industry this week is the fight over the future of Yahoo. But there's a sideshow worth watching for those interested in Washington tech policy: Today is the last day of the Federal Trade Commission's public comment period on online privacy principles and behavioral advertising.

"Internet moet 'semantisch web' worden"
UTRECHT - 08/06/07 Tim Berners-Lee, grondlegger van het wereldwijde web, heeft kritiek op de manier waarop het internet evolueert. Facebook, Friendster Signal Changing Tide
The world of social networking is changing, but don't worry, it's not permanent. It's more of a tide than anything that reaches and recedes from all things. MySpace is changing, Facebook is catching, and Friendster is resurrected.
Like Internet dating in its infancy, social networks have graduated from something for the kids (with dating, it was the geeks) to a normalized part of society. Critics had similar concerns about Rock N Roll in its day, and short skirts, and tie-dye, and jazz and dancing
